#12 My Peter Pan

(Josie Sayz: This is the twelfth poem from my ‘Rollercoaster Rainbow’ poetry anthology.)

The days are blue
When you’ve been working all day long.
You feel so down
That you can’t even break into song.
You just frown;
You need to turn it upside down.
Something’s not right,
Need someone to show you the light.
He shows up,
Dressed in green.
Says it was all
A bad dream
Then you smile,
Give me your hand.
And say to me,
“Follow me to Neverland.”
‘Cause you’re my Peter Pan.
When you’ve had a bad day
You just wanna hit the hay.
No time to play;
In bed you wanna stay.
The clouds turn grey,
There’s no way you could stay.
You feel so out of shape.
You just wanna escape.
He shows up,
Dressed in green.
Says it was all
A bad dream
Then you smile,
Give me your hand.
And say to me,
“Follow me to Neverland.”
‘Cause you’re my Peter Pan.
Here he comes,
Just in time,
Taking me
By his side…
He shows up,
Dressed in green.
Says it was all
A bad dream
Then you smile,
Give me your hand.
And say to me,
“Follow me to Neverland.”
‘Cause you’re my Peter Pan.
‘Cause you’re my Peter Pan.
Fly me to Neverland.
Come on and take my hand.
Try catch me if you can.
‘Cause you’re my Peter Pan.
