(Josie
Sayz: More archiving. This poem just came to me randomly one day. I had it
published in a poetry anthology years ago.)
This
is the mystery of Humpty Dumpty!
Was
he pushed?
You
decide…
Jack
and Jill went up the hill
to
fetch a pail of water.
Jack
fell down and broke his crown
and
Jill came tumbling after.
Up
Jack got and home he trot
as
fast as he could caper.
He
went to bed to mend his head
with
vinegar and brown paper.
Up
Jill got to see Humpty she trot,
Dot,
dot, dot...
Humpty
Dumpty sat on the wall,
all
of a sudden, he had a great fall.
All
the King’s horses and all the King’s men,
couldn't
put Humpty together again.
From
Humpty to home Jill did trot,
and
explained her story to Jack – a lot.
With
vinegar and brown paper Jack ran,
past
all the streets and The Muffin Man.
For
Humpty Dumpty Jack did see,
was
all in pieces and misery.
After
a while Humpty was well,
for
Jack had helped and saved him – swell!
Now
Jack was left to punish Jill
for
making Humpty Dumpty ill.
Humpty Dumpty was pushed…
or was he…?
