(Josie Sayz: This is the poem that I am going to email to
my office, when I leave on Friday.)
The time has come to say goodbye;
My time spent here has flew.
So, I’ll leave you with this poem
And bid you all adieu.
Just because I’m leaving you,
It doesn’t mean we’re through,
Because I have compiled a list
Of things you need to do.
Keep the office clean and tidy.
It isn’t hard to do,
But if you find you’re struggling,
I’ll leave you with a clue.
When using the dishwasher,
Here is your handy guide:
Please, rinse all the cups and glasses,
Before they go inside.
Mugs and glasses on the top shelf,
Please, fill it from the back.
Swill all your bowls and plates then they
Go on the bottom rack.
Keep the office clean and tidy.
Please, clean up as you go.
Don’t forget to recycle and
Return what you borrow.
When filling up the printers,
Don’t leave rubbish on the floor.
Letterhead, A3, plain paper,
Engrossment is tray four.
Close the door of your cabinet,
At the end of each day.
Don’t forget to shut the drawers,
Or you’ll trip up on the way.
Keep the office clean and tidy.
It isn’t hard to do.
If you follow my hints and tips,
It will help all of you.
Return all borrowed stationery,
Don’t leave it on your desk.
By hoarding the office supplies,
You may become a pest.
And make sure your post is ready
In time for half past three.
Ensure special and tracked letters
Are noted clearly.
Keep the office clean and tidy.
Please, clean up as you go.
Leave things as you wish to find them.
And good luck should follow.
I will not miss the bullying,
It’s why I have to go.
The lies and whispered gossiping
Has made me feel quite low.
Just because I have Asperger’s,
Dyslexia and ADD,
Doesn’t mean you can be spiteful
And say hurtful things to me.
Keep the office clean and tidy.
And before I say goodbye,
Just know there are a few of you
Who made me, often, cry.
Let’s end this on a positive;
I want to say thank you,
For all the opportunities,
There have been quite a few.
Some of you I have known longer
And others are quite new.
This message is for everyone:
I will miss all of you.
